Terms of use
Last updated: October 26, 2026
1. Purpose and acceptance
These terms govern the use of https://bot-canvas.com (“BotCanvas”), which lets users create Discord bots with artificial intelligence tools, test them and download their code. The publisher is named in the legal notice.
The service is free: no payment is requested. The French version prevails.
Bots, their code, answers to requests and form filling are produced by artificial intelligence systems.
Users accept these terms and acknowledge the privacy policy by ticking the box provided when they create their account. Without this acceptance, the service cannot be used.
2. Account
Login uses a Discord account. Users must be at least the minimum age required by Discord in their country; minors confirm they have their legal guardian's consent. Users comply with Discord's terms.
Users create their bot's Discord application themselves and provide its token. The token is encrypted, never shown again, never sent to artificial intelligence tools and only used to run and configure the bot.
Users can delete their account at any time from the My account page: their bots are stopped and their data erased. An account with no login for 3 years is deleted automatically.
3. Free service
The service is limited: generations per month, bots per account, features per bot and AI form fills, as shown on the Pricing page (https://bot-canvas.com/en/pricing).
Bots are generated using free plans of artificial intelligence providers. BotCanvas may change the limits of the service or end it. Except in an emergency, for example an artificial intelligence provider ending its free plan, users are informed on the site at least 30 days before the service ends or its limits are lowered, so they have time to download the code of their validated bots and the data their bots stored.
4. Test and validation
After generation, BotCanvas checks the code automatically (errors, security). The bot can then be tested on BotCanvas infrastructure for the period shown on the Pricing page, without access to its code.
At the end of the test, the user decides whether to validate the bot (“Validate” button). Once the bot is validated, its code can be downloaded.
Users can delete a bot at any time from its page: its request, code and token are then erased.
5. Bot code
BotCanvas claims no rights over the code generated for the user. Users may freely use, modify and run the downloaded code, including outside BotCanvas. The libraries this code uses (discord.py for example) remain under their own licences.
Free-tier bots running on BotCanvas infrastructure show a “Made with BotCanvas” mention. The mention is not required in the downloaded code: users may remove it.
The code is produced by artificial intelligence tools. The automatic check does not guarantee it is free of defects or fit for a particular purpose.
6. Forbidden uses and suspension
Forbidden: bots that break Discord's terms; send spam or mass private messages; are used for raids or to destroy a server; are selfbots (automating a user account); collect tokens, passwords, or personal data without the members' knowledge or unrelated to the bot's purpose; or serve any illegal activity.
Any bot can be reported from the link in its Discord description. In case of breach, BotCanvas may suspend the bot. Suspension is immediate when the bot threatens servers, their members or the infrastructure; in other cases, BotCanvas may first ask the user to fix the bot.
The user is told the reason for the suspension on the bot's page. They may contest it by writing to contact@bot-canvas.com: BotCanvas then reviews the decision and answers within 15 days.
7. Data of Discord server members
On the servers where it is installed, a bot processes members' data (Discord IDs and names, messages, roles) as the user asked it to. The user is the data controller: they choose what their bot does and inform the members of their servers.
This article is the processing contract required by article 28 of the GDPR between the user and BotCanvas. Subject and nature: hosting and running the bot. Duration: as long as the bot runs on BotCanvas infrastructure. Data: IDs, names, messages and roles of members of the servers where the bot is installed, and whatever the bot's code stores. Data subjects: the members of those servers.
BotCanvas processes this data on the user's behalf, only on the user's instructions, that is the bot's code, and only to run the bot. BotCanvas keeps this data confidential, runs each bot isolated from the others, helps the user answer members' requests and tells the user without delay in case of a data breach. It provides the user, on request to contact@bot-canvas.com, with the information needed to demonstrate compliance with these obligations, and allows the user to check it, themselves or through an auditor they appoint, under reasonable conditions.
BotCanvas shares this data only with its host (IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany, phone +49 721 170 5522) and, when the user asks for a bug fix, with the artificial intelligence providers listed in the privacy policy. These then receive the error found in the bot's log, after automatic filtering that removes message content and members' names and IDs. BotCanvas informs the user before any change of host or other processor, through an update of these terms to be accepted (article 10).
End of service: before stopping their bot, the user can download the data the bot stored (“Download the bot's data” button). When the bot is stopped or deleted, or the account is deleted, the bot's logs and that data (files, database: levels, warnings, tickets…) are erased, and BotCanvas keeps no members' data.
The bot's code may itself send members' data to other services, for example an artificial intelligence for a chat command, or another API, if the user asked for it. These transfers are decided by the user, who is responsible for them and must inform the members of their servers.
8. Liability
The service is provided free of charge. BotCanvas takes reasonable steps to keep it running, without guaranteeing availability. Operation also depends on Discord and on artificial intelligence providers, over which BotCanvas has no control.
Users answer for how they use their bot and for the content it posts on their servers. These terms do not exclude BotCanvas's liability where the law does not allow it to be excluded.
9. Personal data
The processing of users' personal data is described in the privacy policy (https://bot-canvas.com/en/legal/privacy).
10. Changes to these terms
BotCanvas may change these terms. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. After a change, users are informed on the site and must accept the new version to keep using the service; if they refuse it, they can delete their account.
11. Contact and governing law
For any question, complaint or notice, including from authorities: contact@bot-canvas.com. This is the single point of contact required by the EU Digital Services Act (DSA).
These terms are governed by French law.
